Grub in The Hub: Financing Your Start-Up - Planning and Executing

Shahrooz Nabavi and Jon Conlin of Fasken Martineau will present on what tech start-ups should consider when planning and executing on their seed or second round of financing (the pre-Series A rounds). The focus of the presentation will be on reviewing the various forms of financing structures available to start-ups, current “market terms”, and the usual life cycle of a financing transaction.

Jon Conlin

Jon is an associate in Fasken Martineau’s Securities and Mergers & Acquisitions Group. His practice focuses primarily on corporate and commercial law. He represents a variety of clients, from start-ups to large corporations, on a number of matters including mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and corporate reorganizations. He also advises on a wide range of transactions, including start-up and incorporation issues, debt, equity, angel and venture capital financings, and ongoing business matters.

Shahrooz Nabavi

Shahrooz is a partner and a member of the Information Technology, Private Equity and Venture Capital, and Corporate Commercial Practice Groups. Shahrooz has an active transaction-oriented practice in the corporate finance, technology, and corporate/commercial areas. He primarily advises and represents emerging and growth stage Canadian technology and clean technology companies, as well as the investors in such companies in respect of all financing, corporate and commercial matters.

What is the cancellation policy?
All ticket sales are final. No refunds.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the Hub?
The Hub is conveniently located 7 minutes by foot from VCC-Clark Skytrain station. Hourly parking is available on both sides of the building which are metered by Impark. Alternatively, street parking is available on Great Northern Way, free of charge. There is also a $2 daily parking lot available at the end of the block where you will see a fleet of white trucks.
